Covers that didn’t pass our cosmetic check, offered near cost to organisations doing the work.
Every batch leaves a few covers with a crooked edge, an off-center cut, or a mark from handling. They protect and support healing exactly like the ones we sell - they just don’t look the part. Rather than bin them, we send them out as a mixed pack to verified rescues, shelters, and nonprofits for a flat $40, which covers materials and postage. Apply below.
What’s in the pack
Assorted, not chosen
Sizes and models vary by whatever is in the reject bin that week - a mix of Shield and Care in small, large, and extra large. We can’t promise a specific size or model.
Roughly five to seven covers
The pack is capped by weight rather than count, so the exact number depends on the size mix. In practice that lands around five to seven covers per envelope.
Covers only, no straps
No strap kits and no retail packaging - the covers arrive in a plain envelope. If you already use our covers you’ll have straps on hand; if not, straps can be ordered separately at normal prices.
Cosmetic flaws only
Nothing in the pack is structurally compromised. Anything with a real functional fault is destroyed, not passed on. These simply look imperfect.
Who this is for
Registered rescues, shelters, and nonprofits caring for dogs - including breed-specific rescues. We ask for a registration number, EIN, or an equivalent that shows the organisation is real.
This isn’t a discount route for individual owners or a supply line for resellers. If you’re buying for your own dog, the shop has everything, and I’m always happy to help you find the right size there.

I review it
Applications are read within three working days. If anything is unclear I’ll simply email and ask.
Step 2
You get an answer
Approved organisations receive a $40 payment link by email. If it isn’t a fit, you’ll hear that too, with the reason.
Step 3
The pack ships
Once payment lands, the envelope goes out with the next post run and you’ll get the tracking details.
Questions
Why $40 and not free?
Because postage isn’t free. The $40 covers materials and international shipping with a small buffer for handling - it isn’t a profit line. Giving packs away entirely would mean I could only send a handful a year instead of a steady stream.
What exactly is a “second”?
A cover with a cosmetic flaw: an uneven edge, a slightly off cut, a smudge from handling. The material, the shape, and the fit are the same as our retail covers, so they protect and support healing just as well. Anything with a genuine functional fault never leaves the workshop.
How long does it take?
Up to three working days for a decision, and the pack ships within a few days of payment. Delivery time then depends on your country - usually one to three weeks.
Can we apply more than once?
One pack per organisation every six months, so the bin gets spread around fairly. If you have an unusual situation, write to me and we’ll work it out.
